Service very attentive and friendly. A favourite place. Not cheap but worth it. We enjoyed a midweek lunch, the restaurant ambiance was very pleasing and the service by all members of the staff was first class. Everthing was delicious and nicely presented. Service was attentive. Would recommend! Amazing service, Mac and cheese was great as well as all of the fresh prawns. The food is delicious. BUT, I asked for a quiet table but the one in the bar was very noisy. Amazing welcome and amazing food! There is a reason why this is a classic. Really enjoyable evening. Highly recommended. The quality of the fish was great. We had a really good meal. The seafood platters are top class- the finest seafood. We followed this up with the fish stew. Again, really good. Service was friendly, professional and attentive.

Very lively and food was great. Good cocktails. Absolute joy of a place Excellent seafood, all freshly prepared. We had the Sri-Lankan fish curry - superb and an excellent glass of Sancerre.
Service was very attentive. Restaurant is also very well located for theatre land. Will definitely return. A great place to dine pre- and post-theatre. Instead of theatre too! Left my credit cards and phone on the bar by mistake and retrieved them later from staff who had tucked them safely away. I defy anybody not to make J Sheekey a firm favourite.
Service was a bit chaotic in that there were 4 people service me during the night. Other than that, the food and drink and overall experience was very good. Amazingly fresh seafood with quality service.

Every bit of the experience made it the best birthday dinner I've organised for my wife. From the initial phone call after making my booking and checking about the notes I added when booking on Opentable I got the sense that the service was very high quality.
When we arrived, the maitre d' was incredibly helpful and accomodating. The decor had an amazing decadent but relaxed charm. And the food for superb. Delicious tapas style dishes which we couldn't get enough of. Some amazing non alcoholic cocktails. And although we were full to the brim, they suggested a secret off menu dessert of ice berries with white chocolate which was the perfect light dessert to round off an incredible meal. Authentic and traditional plac, good service and good food. Glorious as ever.

Great ambiance and very convenient for the theatres - they are good at getting you out on time when you need that, but if you don't it's all very relaxed! Lovely restaurant but a bit over priced. Amazing experience thank you. I choose J Sheekey to celebrate my birthday with high expectation, however, the service there can not make up as happy as the food Next time I may choose other restaurant.
Bit of a disappointment after wanting to visit for a long time, for a celebratory meal. The restaurant itself is old fashioned and very busy. The crowd were mostly a little older. The menu is great, very old school London restaurant. The area I was in was crowded enough the waiters would step back into our table whilst serving the nearest ones.
We wondered if our table was usually there it was so awkward. It was also very hot on a cool autumn night and I had to step out to cool down a staff member also commented on the heat of the room The waiter was not very attentive, despite apparently having many staff. We asked for water which never arrived and nobody came for our order. Eventually another waiter appeared to take our order, surprised it had not appeared.
We had to ask for wine and water refills no bottle on the table. The food though was good, good range well cooked and an excellent dessert. Beautiful oysters. Took a long time to get the bill - it was missing the wine, which I pointed out - and then it took ages for another bill to appear.
If I had the energy I may have quibbled the service charge at that point, but the room was so hot we were keen to leave. All quite disappointing frankly. I would not recommend for a special meal. Our long awaited meal with family was just lovely. Everyone made us so welcome, the service was impeccable and the entire meal delicious! Overall, satisfied with the food and service. The food was good, mostly well presented, served with no fuss or ceremony.
I appreciated that one of the lady servers presented me with a dessert menu before I need to ask for it. Value for money? I also appreciate that the outside seating was well covered and sheltered and hence I still enjoyed my meal even if it was pouring and cold outside. A small note: I hope that they read the reservation details it's apparent that they don't , e. Overall, I would recommend this for the rare special occasion and the location; but if you're looking for good value, there are definitely other options!
Our expectation was higher than the delivery. Tough we had a reservation we were sat at a tiny table in a small crowded room. The first waiter was very attentive but it was all down hill from there. Staff were very attentive but the service of the food was appalling.
We waited one hour before we had our main course. The food was well cooked and presented. We have said yes to recommend - trusting that this delay was not its usual performance. Charming and professional staff. Delicious food especially the delicate tempura prawns.
My favourite restaurant by a long way! Brilliant food, service and ambiance. We shared the mixed sashimi, which was lovely, so fresh and delicious, followed by the turbot, which was simply cooked and so full of flavour. The service was immaculate and still lovely when we were the last people in the restaurant! An amazing post theatre dinner. The service was outstanding the food is on a different level worth every penny.
