You have to see London like a painting you see for the first time and then you start to discover its little secrets. London is a collection of villages, which makes it elegant. Tourists have to come with time, and they have to be prepared to walk a lot. Which London shops do you rely on?

David Linley and Vivienne Westwood. I also go to SJ Phillips on Bond Street for the antique jewellery and I always have a look in Harvey Nichols, just to check what is in store and what is going on. What's your earliest London memory? I remember seeing the Tower of London as a very small child with my governess. What are you most afraid of? The loss of memories. What are your guilty pleasures? I cannot just eat one, I have to eat the box. I have very common taste in chocolate; I love milk with a little praline.

Toblerone is one of my favourites. What would you do as Mayor of London for the day? I would give everybody a day to go and do whatever they like at no cost, including transportation. What animal would you most like to be? The independent luxury magazine showcasing the finest and most luxurious things in life.
